Love me or hate me, momentum is king.



In this video, I discuss my thoughts on how we can improve resistance training applications for certain goals using back squats and countermovement jumps. Currently, a popular focus is to control velocity of movement during exercise training (e.g., squats) to improve performance in a key task (e.g., countermovement jump). Here, I explain my reasoning for why there should be a pivot to using momentum of the training and key tasks when selecting a training exercise or intensity.
