Dr. John R. Harry graduated with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton. He then earned an M.S. degree in Health and Sport Sciences from The University of Memphis and a Ph.D. degree in Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Harry is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.

Dr. Harry is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX USA. In this role, he directs the Human Performance & Biomechanics Laboratory, a state-of-the-art research facility fully equipped for biophysical analyses of human performance.

Dr. Harry's work has been published in top-tier peer-reviewed research journals, such as Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, Journal of Biomechanics, and the Journal of Sports Sciences. He has also been interviewed by commercial organizations such as SimpliFaster and IMeasureU.

​

Outside of the laboratory, Dr. Harry can be found watching any Star Wars movie or TV series, or reading a Star Wars book for the gazillionth time. If he's not doing that, he's probably playing the guitar at just the right volume to annoy his wife (see video).
